Lash Lift

A lash lift procedure is a relatively low-maintenance procedure that helps your lashes look more lifted with a natural curl. No matter how much mascara we put on, sometimes your lashes need an extra boost, and while eyelash extensions are amazing, they can be high maintenance. This is why lash lifts are so popular. Lasting typically 4-8 weeks, the lash lift procedure helps enhance your eyes and maximizes the length of your natural lashes, slightly altering the shape and creating a lifted and natural enhancement.

Q & A

What is a lash lift?

A lash lift is a service that allows you to curl/lift the natural lashes, eliminating the need for a lash curler. This innovative procedure will lift the client's natural lashes, providing extra definition and is perfect for those who are looking for a natural lift without the maintenance of eyelash extensions.

What is the process of getting a lash lift?

The procedure involves placing a silicone shield, rod, or mold to the lash line which we then secure the lashes onto the shield using specialized glue and products, which alter the curve of the eyelashes to mimic the curve of the shield.

How long does it last?

A lash lift typically lasts 4-8 weeks. In some very rare situations, it can last longer.

How often can I get a lash lift?

We highly suggest waiting 10 weeks before redoing a lash lift to ensure the lash has fully grown out and that we don’t compromise the lash health in any way. If you make a booking before 10 weeks, we are likely to decline performing this treatment. Performing a lash lift earlier than 10 weeks poses increased risks such as overprocessing, frizzy lashes, and an undesired result. There are times when we need to extend this time out to 12 weeks because of a slower growth cycle, but 10 weeks seems to be the sweet spot for the majority of clients.

Are there any risks associated with a lash lift?

Due to the powerful chemicals during the process, there can be some downsides to the process. There is a possibility that the hairs can be overprocessed resulting in dry, crispy, brittle, and frizzy eyelashes. This rarely happens but is not unheard of, and we take every measure possible to prevent this unwanted side effect. Your therapist is highly skilled in this treatment, but sometimes unwanted side effects do happen, so it's important to understand this risk before proceeding. Due to the strong chemicals, lash lifts can also cause skin irritation, redness, dryness, itchiness, and inflamed skin, and there have been instances where eczema-like symptoms have been experienced.

Can I get a lash lift when I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

In order for any company to claim it's safe, they need to carry out studies and tests proving this treatment is 100% safe. Most companies have not carried out the testing, so we recommend avoiding this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Also, there could be increased sensitivities.

Contraindications (When we can't do it)

  • Conjunctivitis
  • Blepharitis (Inflammation of the eye)
  • Tattooing of eyeliner (Wait at least 4 weeks post eyeliner tattoo)
  • Rash on the face or eye area
  • Colds or viral infections
  • Allergic reactions
  • Eye and eyelid injury
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Considerations

  • Hormonal imbalances (Menopause and menstruation). This is not a contraindication but a consideration to keep in mind. Sometimes the results are affected with hormonal changes. Hormonal imbalances cause your sebaceous glands to work differently and produce either more oil or a lack of oil. This increased oil or lack of oil can alter results.
