Is it for everyone?
DMK Enzyme Therapy has a multitude of benefits in treating ALL skin conditions. When your skin is showing effects of acne, rosacea, dehydrated dry skin, pigmentation, aging, lifeless skin, or enlarged pores, it is a sign of imbalance in the skin. DMK enzymes can assist with the management of all the above.
It means that your capillaries have been flushed of toxins, and the blood has been loaded up with fresh oxygen and nutrients to deliver to your skin cells. DMK calls this the Plasmatic Effect™, and it is a great way to determine how optimally your skin is functioning.
What's the difference between Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4?
Level 1: Refrains from using exfoliation in this treatment. It's generally a treatment we do when we are on a course of treatments in between your stronger treatments or for those that may have an ultra-compromised skin.
Level 2: Includes a pre-exfoliant. It is a very popular option as it has no downtime and has elevated results. If it's your first time doing a DMK treatment, this is the level we suggest.
Level 3: Often has 2 pre-exfoliants or additives added to the pre-exfoliant for an added boost. Also, we often add additional ingredients under the DMK enzyme mask to intensify the treatment and enhance results.
Level 4: With level 4 treatments, expect a little bit of downtime. Don't worry; it's all normal, but we focus more on resurfacing the skin and often start to peel back more layers of skin for a true paramedical skin result.
What's a DMK Alkaline treatment?
An exclusive and unique treatment that turns the skin's natural slightly acidic pH to an alkaline state in order to increase the skin’s response to treatments and products. It works to swell, soften, and dissolve unwanted dead skin cells that cause hyperpigmentation, signs of aging, scars, razor bumps, acne, as well as reduce unwanted hair. It also works to remove milia and revise rosacea and can be used on areas of the body. After an alkaline treatment, you can expect your skin to feel incredibly soft, silky, and appear brighter with a more even skin tone. There is a small downtime period with alkalines where the skin can be dry, flaky, rough, and have sores on the skin, but it's a very safe treatment to do.
How long does a DMK Enzyme treatment normally take?
The average treatment takes 1.5 hours. Sometimes a little longer depending on the treatment we are doing.
What is a Plasmatic?
A Plasmatic effect is a visual representation of the oxygenation that takes place during DMK’s signature Enzyme Facial. The ‘Veiny’ road map is created by the downward pressure caused by the tightening of the Enzyme Masque. It stimulates the circulatory system to pump fresh oxygen and nutrient-rich blood through the capillaries, causing them to dilate. This fresh, oxygenated blood brings with it nutrients to feed our skin cells while eliminating toxins, stagnant blood, and other dead cell debris through the Lymphatic system, making this treatment very detoxifying.
Just like oxygen is essential for us to live, our blood and cells also require oxygen. It creates the energy our cells need to survive and stimulates the production and regeneration of collagen and elastin, giving our skin structural integrity.
The professional masque contains enzymes that help to create an optimum environment for our cells to thrive and helps to re-educate skin back to its youthful state.
The enzyme masque is left on the skin for 45 minutes. In this time, it will continue to dry and harden, holding the facial muscles in a static position, working to give your skin firmness and tone.
With the use of DMK’s professional pre-exfoliates, we also treat the skin topically. This means that acne, scarring, pigmentation, and redness can all be corrected. Every client's skin care journey is fully personalised, with no two treatments ever being exactly the same.
What sensation should you expect during the treatment?
DMK is NOT your typical facial. Once the DMK enzyme treatment has been applied to your face, neck, and décolletage, it will start to harden, kind of like cement. After 45 minutes, it completely tightens on your skin, and you can start to feel the gentle pulse of your lymphatic system working. It may be a surprising feeling at first, but soon you may enjoy the satisfying feeling of the DMK enzyme treatment.
