Q & A

What is Laser Genesis?

Laser genesis is a non-invasive and comfortable procedure that uses a laser to gently heat the dermis directly under the skin. This stimulates collagen production, which plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The heat from the laser can also constrict blood vessels, which helps fight redness and rosacea. It can also help treat acne, uneven skin tone, and scarring.

Who is this treatment for?

Laser genesis is for patients who want a scientifically proven and non-injectable method of skin rejuvenation in a non-invasive and discreet way without any downtime. Improvements can be seen in skin tone, skin texture, and plumpness. It is for those who want to see subtle and consistent results after each treatment. It is great for younger patients in their 20s and 30s who want to control the aging of their skin. It is also great for older patients who want to treat their signs of aging. It is a very popular treatment for those with rosacea, redness, and flushing.

What skin conditions can it treat?

This non-invasive skin laser will help with the following issues: aging, sun damage, redness, large pores, fine lines, uneven texture, rosacea, acne.

How many treatments will I need?

Clients will see an improvement after each treatment; however, results are subtle. We recommend 4-6 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Every client's condition and needs vary; your therapist will discuss this at your consultation.

How often should I do a treatment?

If you are on a corrective course of laser genesis, we recommend treatments between 2 - 4 weeks apart. If you are on a maintenance or preventative course, we recommend treatments every 1-2 months. You will see subtle results after 1 treatment but more significant results with subsequent treatments. Treatment plans will differ between clients, but generally, 3-5 treatments are recommended.

What can I expect after the treatment?

The skin post laser genesis will feel plump, and some clients feel a little warm. The skin can be a little flushed, like you have gone for a brisk 10-minute walk, but most clients just look like they have had a facial. There is no downtime generally associated with laser genesis, but 1 in 100 clients may get a little pimply, rash, textured, and bumpy. Though extremely rare, this only ever happens once for that client, and this will subside within 7-10 days.

Does it hurt?

In short, the answer is no. Often clients fall asleep with this treatment. Some clients feel a little prickly and hot in areas, but for the most part, it's a comfortable treatment. If you imagine running your hand over a candle flame in a comfortable and fast manner, that's similar to the sensation of laser genesis.

I'm booked for a treatment, do I need to do anything beforehand?

The great thing about laser genesis is there is no particular preparation you need to do beforehand. Avoiding sun exposure is always recommended prior and post and laser service. Incorporating paramedical skincare into the preparation will help achieve superior results. The more healthy and hydrated the cells prior to laser genesis, the better the cells seem to regenerate.
